Model BG®-3 with TDAC™ Particulate Partial Flow Sampling System for Transient Test Cycles from Sierra Shown at Automotive Testing Expo
Led by the Model BG®-3, particulate partial flow sampling of particulate emissions has gained great acceptance and popularity due to clear advantages over CVS systems. Designed to reduce the capital and operating costs associated with full-flow dilution testing and accelerate development and certification cycles, the BG®-3 is ideal for transient test cycles of diesel, gasoline, or natural gas engines of any size to be used in both engine and chassis test cells. It is also exceptionally suited for steady-state test cycles as well.
The BG®-3's patented Transient Dilution Airflow Control (TDAC™) is at the heart of its sampling speed. TDAC™ is Sierra's ultra fast flow apportionment, measurement, and control system to execute proportional sampling effectively. Using TDAC™, the BG®-3 accomplishes transient proportional sampling to accurately compensate for large variations of change in engine speed, load, airflow, and fuel values over a short time frames during the transient cycle testing.
The BG®-3 was developed to ISO 16183 standards and comes with user friendly software that allows the knowledgeable engineer the diversity of testing any size or fueled engine for particulates. The operation, calibration and trouble shooting of the system can be accomplished either locally or remotely. In addition, Sierra’s BG®-3 meets all EPA 1065 regulations. The Model BG®-3 is approved by the EPA for use in certification and compliance testing of on-road engines, as an approved alternate device to the full-flow CVS system.
