Sierra Announces Lifetime Warranty Coverage for Sensors

MONTEREY, CA — January 25, 2010 —Sierra Instruments has announced that it will offer lifetime warranty coverage for the Dry-Sense™ sensors in all Sierra Immersible Mass Flow Meters. Sierra has incorporated their proprietary Dry-Sense™ technology into their products since the 1990’s and to their knowledge are the only company in the industry to back up their thermal sensor for life.

Sierra offers the lifetime warranty on all Dry-Sense™ sensors in the Sierra Model 640S, 670S and 780S (non UHP) Immersible Thermal Mass Flow Meters sold after January 1, 2010. 
 
Traditional sensors use organics like glues and epoxies to fix the sensor core in place. These “wet” sensors have organics that tend to crack and change composition over time, with a consequent loss of accuracy and need for re-calibration.  Sierra uses a proprietary manufacturing process and patented design that uses no organics, and thus is “dry”.  As a result, Sierra’s Dry-Sense™ sensors don’t drift over time, and thereby hold their original calibration.
