Engine Test Facility Designed and Built by Sierra CP Wins International Acclaim

Lansing, Michigan — February 3, 2016 — Sierra CP, the Automotive Test Systems Division of Sierra Instruments, has announced that a test cell project they completed in 2015 for Intertek, located in Milton Keynes, UK, has been awarded “Engine Test Facility of the Year for 2015” by Automotive Testing Technology International magazine.   

Sierra CP, with headquarters in the US and the UK, designed and built six highly configurable new test cells to meet Intertek’s requirements for the development of advanced engines and powertrains, including hybrids and EV's. Intertek’s primary focus is on high performance engines typically associated with luxury and performance vehicles. The new facility is now recognized globally as among the highest specification test cells commercially available.

Sierra CP held a single-source contract for facility design and construction management with Intertek that included equipment specification and manufacture, procurement and installation, integration of equipment and facility systems, commissioning, and long-term maintenance and support. All major civil construction was implemented with minimal operational disturbance of their existing operational test cells.
