Sierra Instruments to Exhibit at Sabic Conference 2025

January 23, 2025– Monterey, California – Sierra Instruments, with Global Headquarters in Monterey, California, is excited to announce its participation in the Sabic Conference 2025, showcasing its leading-edge QuadraTherm® and TM500 Oil & Gas flow meter solutions.

Sierra thermal mass flow meters deliver accurate, field-flexible, reliable, and cost-effective flow measurement solutions for the most demanding industrial processes in facilities management, chemical plants, gas refineries, and petrochemical production. Sierra instruments are built to last and meet your application, budget, and delivery needs.

QuadraTherm delivers the world’s most accurate thermal mass flow measurements, with an accuracy of +/- 0.5% of reading above 50% of full scale for air and other gases. Accuracy is as good as, if not better than, Coriolis at a fraction of the price. It offers built-in flow conditioning (inline version), high turndown to handle low to high flows during upset conditions, multivariable outputs, and flow ranges up to 60,000 sfpm (305 smps).

The meter also features qTherm®, Dial-A-Gas®, Dial-A-Pipe™, and onboard qMix gas mixing software, allowing for custom gas mixtures in the field without costly recalibration. It’s perfect for managing changes in flare gas composition in upstream oil & gas applications and other scenarios where gas composition frequently changes.

The TM500 offers similar benefits to QuadraTherm for flow velocity ranges 0 to 45,000 sfpm at a reduced cost. It promises precision, speed, and the field flexibility you need to adjust gas mixes and configure meter settings to maintain optimum process efficiency.

Sierra Thermal flow meters make you smarter and your processes more reliably efficient. Both QuadraTherm and the TM500 deliver direct measurement of gas flow, unlike differential pressure (dP) meters that require additional calculations to convert volumetric flow to mass flow, the measurement most often required. Direct measurement allows the meter to provide low-end sensitivity for flares, venting, and leak detection. It also measures very high flows during upset conditions.

Thermal Advantage over DP
  • Better low-flow sensitivity and accuracy
  • Better low-pressure sensitivity and accuracy
  • Wide turndown up to 1000:1 to handle peak and low flow fluctuations
  • Less pressure drop
  • Easier installation
  • More affordable maintenance
  • Direct mass flow measurement immune to changes in temperature and pressure
